Hogwarts Legacy Ultimate Is A Huge Overhaul With A Brand-New Mode

Becoming one of the best-selling games is no easy feat with the video game market as competitive as it is, but that is what Hogwarts Legacy managed to achieve when it launched back in 2023. Of course, with the Avalanche Software RPG being sold under the Harry Potter IP, it was bound to sell well, but since its release, fans have been eagerly finding ways to return to the magic. Unfortunately, with Avalanche Software quickly turning its attention to a Hogwarts Legacy sequel, there have been little content updates for the hit RPG, and as such, it has been up to its dedicated community to keep the magic alive.

Hogwarts Legacy Too Easy? Try This

As with any RPG, difficulty can be dependent on the player. With some RPGs offering Dark Souls’ level of difficulty, some players just want the opportunity to explore, take the game at their own pace, and not have to deal with punishing combat that is guaranteed to make them range. With Hogwarts Legacy falling into the latter category, it is an RPG suited to the most casual of players who just want an excuse to finally feel what it would be like to be a Hogwarts student. However, if you had preferred the Harry Potter-inspired RPG to be a bit more challenging, then this free mod may just be perfect for you.

Hogwarts Ultimate is a complete gameplay overhaul for Hogwarts Legacy which will allow the player to “experience supreme immersion, balance, and progression in your next playthrough!” Created by MayKuro over on CurseForge, this mod is recommended to be played in Hogwarts Legacy‘s hardest difficulty, as 2,200 database edits have been geared towards taking the casual aspect out of the game by making it both more difficult and immersive. Some examples of the changes are as follows: enemies deal 2x more damage, prices on every item are changed to add weight to the player’s spending and looting choices, items found in shops have been significantly overhauled, potions and plant growth times are altered to streamline gameplay, Ingredients required for all potion brewing has been overhauled to better fit their abundance in the world, and lots more.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Is All-But Officially Confirmed

This mod is the perfect excuse to boot up Hogwarts Legacy once more ahead of the launch of its sequel, which is expected to coincide with the launch of HBO’s Harry Potter adaptation in 2027. With plans to collaborate in some capacity, we do not yet know what this will entail, especially as the events of Hogwarts Legacy and the Harry Potter series take place a century apart. However, what is clear, is that the next few years are going to be an exciting time for Harry Potter fans and proof that the magic is still very much alive after all.
