Suspense Thriller ‘Safe’ Picked Up by Reinvent Yellow Sales

Suspense thriller “Safe,” which is in post-production, has been added to the Reinvent Yellow Sales lineup. The film is directed by Thomas Sieben, also behind the Netflix hit “Prey.”

When a young girl becomes trapped inside an airtight safe, firefighter Alex and her partner Jakob are called to a high-pressure rescue with minutes to spare. As oxygen runs out and the girl’s frantic parents demand action, cracks begin to appear in their story. What starts as a desperate life-saving mission quickly unravels into something far more sinister. With time slipping away, Alex and Jakob must uncover the truth behind the child, the couple and the safe itself — before the clock runs out.

The film is based on a screenplay by Jonathan A.H. Stewart (“Devotion”). It is produced by Senator Film in collaboration with Lotus Filmproduktion, and co-produced by ZDF.

The cast consists of Jeanne Goursaud (“Exterritorial”), Laurence Rupp (“Gentle Monster”) and Alexandra Maria Lara (“Rush”), among others.

The film is produced by Ulf Israel, Moritz Lauer and Reik Möller for Senator Film and Tommy Pridnig and Clemens Wollein for Lotus Filmproduktion, coproduced by ZDF and Bernhardt & Webel Filmproduktion and with support from ÖFI+ and FFA.

“ ‘Safe’ is a high-concept movie, yet one with broad appeal and an engaging ride from start to finish,” the producers said in a joint statement.
