2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Quentin Tarantino, who will bring his first movie in seven years back to the screen. Tarantino penned the script for the stylish Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel/spin-off, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, which is set to be released on Netflix later this year. While still lacking an official release date, rumors indicate that Netflix is going to give the film a respectable theatrical release before it begins its run on streaming, but only time will tell if this proves to be true. Tarantino is not returning to the director’s chair for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, but he has recruited David Fincher to helm the film, with Brad Pitt back as the titular character. The first images from the film were released a few weeks ago.
Near the end of 2025, Tarantino shared a list of his favorite movies of all time, and at the very top of that list was Black Hawk Down. The 2001 epic was directed by Ridley Scott with a script from Ken Nolan and Mark Bowden, and it features some big stars. Scott recruited Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, Eric Bana, Tom Hardy, and more for roles in Black Hawk Down, and the movie’s immense star power is likely what helped it gross $172 million at the global box office. This wasn’t as much as it needed, though, considering its $90 million production budget, but the film has become a cult classic in the years since its premiere. Black Hawk Down is now staging a worldwide streaming takeover, despite lacking a streaming home in America. It’s still available to rent or purchase on VOD platforms like Prime Video or Apple TV.
