HBO Max’s 2-Part Superhero Series Is the Perfect Binge Before Season 3 Premieres

[

The superhero genre is one of the fastest-growing genres around, with a seemingly endless supply of stories to choose from. With mature hits like The Boys to nostalgic revivals like X-Men ’97, there is a hero for everyone. Yet, even with the wide range, one option stands out as being a great choice for everyone. With a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and a heartwarming story, My Adventures with Superman is an unforgettable series about the most recognizable hero of all. And there has never been a better time to binge-watch the Adult Swim series, especially as it prepares to return on June 14.

With two exciting seasons already available, My Adventures with Superman is well-established. The 2023 animated series serves as an origin to the iconic hero, but it takes a unique approach as Clark (Jack Quaid) struggles to figure out his past. With a lighthearted and wholesome tone, My Adventures with Superman serves as a contrast to other recent and serious versions of the character, creating a niche for itself. As family-friendly as it is, the animated series is perfect for any fans of the character, making it the perfect binge-watch to refresh your memory before Season 3.

What Is ‘ My Adventures with Superman’ About?

In this version of the story, Superman is the hero, but he isn’t the only important character, as the title implies. My Adventures with Superman focuses on the trio of Clark Kent, Lois Lane (Alice Lee), and Jimmy Olsen (Ishmel Sahid), who work together as aspiring journalists at the Daily Planet. Fresh in their careers and serving as interns, the three of them are constantly looking for a way to impress their boss, Perry White (Darrell Brown), which isn’t easy. By allowing them to be so new to the scene, the series gives the characters ways to grow as they learn to be a team. Yet, their hard work pays off quickly as the perfect opportunity falls into their hands when a flying man saves Lois and Jimmy. Dubbing him Superman, Lois determinedly chases an interview, while Jimmy, thrilled to have proof of one of his conspiracy theories, fosters an online presence. However, neither seems to notice that the real story is right beside them.

Your Universe Has Been Chosen
You Belong In…

Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.

  • You are drawn to the moral clarity of a universe where hope itself is a form of resistance.
  • You’d find your people in the Rebellion — a ragtag coalition of true believers held together by conviction more than resources.
  • Star Wars is fundamentally a story about ordinary people choosing to matter in an extraordinary conflict — and that is exactly your kind of story.
  • The Force may or may not be with you. But the will to use it for something larger than yourself certainly is.

Middle-earth

Lord of the Rings

You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

  • Middle-earth is a world of ancient wonder, deep friendship, and a darkness that only retreats when enough small acts of courage accumulate.
  • You would thrive here because you value the fellowship more than the glory — the road more than the arrival.
  • Tolkien’s universe rewards patience, loyalty, and the willingness to carry something heavy across a very long distance.
  • Those are not burdens to you. They are simply how you move through the world.

The Wizarding World

Harry Potter

You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

  • The Wizarding World is a place of wonder hidden in plain sight, where learning is transformative and the bonds you form at school follow you into every battle.
  • You would flourish here because you take both the magic and the friendships seriously — and you understand that one without the other is incomplete.
  • Harry Potter’s universe ultimately rewards those who choose to stand for something even when standing is terrifying.
  • That choice — made quietly, without guarantee — is something you understand completely.

Westeros · The Known World

Game of Thrones

You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

  • Westeros is a world that rewards intelligence, adaptability, and the willingness to understand that every alliance is also a negotiation.
  • You would survive here — possibly thrive here — because you don’t confuse the world as it is with the world as you’d like it to be.
  • Game of Thrones is a story about what happens when the idealists and the realists collide. You are sharp enough to know which one lasts longer.
  • Winter always comes. You are already prepared.

The United Federation of Planets

Star Trek

You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

  • Star Trek is a universe where the questions matter as much as the answers, and where encountering something utterly alien is cause for wonder rather than fear.
  • You would belong here because you are fundamentally optimistic about what intelligence and decency can achieve — while being honest about how hard that achievement is.
  • The Federation is the universe’s most ambitious thought experiment: what if we actually got better?
  • You don’t just hope that’s possible. You think it’s the only thing worth working toward.

While Clark tries to distract his friends, his life as a hero is just beginning. He hopes to uncover the truth about his past as he has few details about his own origins. However, the strange effect he feels from the stolen technology surfacing throughout Metropolis may be the clue he needs. As Superman establishes himself as a hero, he must face every kind of villain from Intergang and their mysterious new tech to the relentless Amanda Waller (Debra Wilson ) and her Task Force X. Yet, these higher-stakes stories never detract from the friendship at the center. My Adventures with Superman has all the action expected of a superhero series, but it’s ultimately about friendship and unity, as Superman would be much less effective without his friends.

3-Part Superman Series Officially Confirms Cast for Beloved DC Hero Ahead of Summer Release [Exclusive]

See who’s joining Jack Quaid in the hit series.

‘My Adventures with Superman’ Is a Much-Needed Wholesome Superhero Story

Despite the familiar character, this version of Superman is unlike others in many ways. Recent stories, like the DCU or Superman & Lois, have introduced an established Superman, allowing him to face his greatest threats with some experience as a hero, but this starts at the beginning. At first, Superman doesn’t have a nemesis or even an understanding of what he can do. Instead of focusing on Superman grieving his planet or the weight of heroic expectations, the series explores the everyday lives of its young adult characters as they build their careers and figure out their love lives. Through this coming-of-age approach, My Adventures with Superman does something new with the beloved hero.

My Adventures with Superman is unique in many ways, but most noticeable is the wholesome tone. The series focuses on the found family dynamic Clark shares with Lois and Jimmy, giving a heartwarming tone to the heroic story, which is a refreshing take. As the genre has grown in mainstream popularity, it has gotten dark, focusing on attracting older audiences. But My Adventures with Superman goes back to basics, allowing for a wide age range. The series delivers an eventful, family-friendly story that is impossible to look away from, creating a fun binge watch, and with the new season coming soon, now is the perfect time to commit to it.

My Adventures with Superman is streaming on HBO Max in the U.S.
