I’ve covered plenty of standing desk deals as office furniture editor, but this one made me stop in my tracks. As part of an early Prime Day sale, the Devaise 40-inch one-piece standing desk is down to $67 (was $76) at Amazon.

That’s an excellent price for a standing desk that I think is suitable for most people, but particularly those whose home office lacks the space required for a large desk.
It’s not the most tricked out desk I’ve ever seen (it had hooks for storage, but no USB ports for charging devices). But it’s quiet in operation and features one of the core factors I always look for in a height-adjustable standing desk in this budget range: a single-piece desktop for greater stability.
Today’s top standing desk deal
I specifically chose this standing desk deal for three reasons.
One, at $67 it’s an excellent price for a height-adjustable bit of kit. I typically see these budget picks priced at the $90 to $100 mark.
Two, it’s only 40 inches. Now, this model comes in a range of sizes, but this is one of the smallest desktops for smaller home offices, while still being practical.
Three, it features a one-piece top. That’s important, because a lot of cheap standing desks use a splice-board desktop – essentially, it’s two bits of wood joined together. This creates a point of weakness running the length of the desk.
For that reason, I tend to recommend single-piece desktops more greater stability in use, especially when rising to full height.
I’ve also rounded up a few alternatives below, with a focus on one-piece 40-inch standing desks for compact workspaces.
