PlayStation Plus Members Losing 3 Free Games In 24 Hours

[

Death, taxes, and PlayStation Plus games leaving to make way for next month’s additions. July is here and that means new PlayStation Plus Essential titles are available for every subscription tier. It also means it is your last chance to claim the three free games from June.

Tomorrow, July 6, is the last day to claim Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. All three games became available June 2, but there’s only about 24 hours left to grab them before they leave PlayStation Plus. A download is not required; all you have to do is add each game to your library from the PlayStation Store, and as long as you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, they will remain downloadable. Here’s a link to each game’s store page:

When Grounded, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and Darktide leave PlayStation Plus, they’ll be replaced by the monthly games for July, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023), For the King 2, and CrossCode. June was a fairly strong month for PlayStation Plus, with three games that are each worth a look.

Grounded is one of the more celebrated survival games of recent years, where the player characters become tiny and must survive in a backyard. The Fully Yoked Edition was the moniker adopted by the game when its final major content update was released. After Fully Yoked, developer Obsidian Entertainment shifted focus to Grounded 2‘s promising early access.

Speaking of sequels usurping their predecessors, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 came just two years after the original game amid a rather short-lived boom of new platform fighters (which included the doomed MultiVersus). Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is generally considered an improvement on the first game because of a few important technical and gameplay advancements, and its roster of 25 iconic characters is a big plus, but it still falls short of genre greatness compared to Super Smash Bros.

Darktide is a quasi-sequel. It’s quite similar to the two Warhammer: Vermintide games that came before it, but has a number of changes because of the switch to the 40K universe. It’s a nice romp into the franchise’s trademark grimdark future, and not a bad starting point if you’re unfamiliar with 40K. The co-op game lets you use a variety of guns and melee weapons to fight waves of enemies as you try to complete certain objectives, and the character customization is a nice touch.

The common theme here with PlayStation Plus Essential’s June games is multiplayer. Grounded and Darktide offer tons of co-op potential, while Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 tends to focus on competitive play. All three games benefit from being out for a while. If you jump into Grounded, for instance, you can play through the game’s entire suite of content and improvements.

But don’t forget to add them to your library before they return to their listed store price. Once you claim them on PlayStation Plus, it doesn’t matter when you play as long as your subscription remains active. Just make sure you grab all three before they’re gone after tomorrow.
