Carson Daly, the long-time host of The Voice, is clearing things up about his future on the NBC singing competition after a “Celebrity” spinoff was confirmed with Keke Palmer as the presenter.
The TRL alum took to social media to explain why he was not hosting the spinoff after having fronted the talent competition for 30 seasons.
“‘Celeb Voice’ is a fun, NEW IDEA that features some big differences like… FAMOUS PEOPLE singing for 3 coaches to see if they have what it takes. There’s lots of new twists & turns. I have been talking about it on @todayshow for a while now,” Daly posted on Instagram. “I am not the right host for it. We have a NEW amazing HOST! The triple threat queen @keke who is PERFECT for it!”
Daly continued, “I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out. We’re all big fans & welcome her to the family.”
After praising The Voice: Celebrity host Keke Palmer, Daly addressed his future as the host of The Voice, where he said, “Many today have asked if I’m leaving the show. Nope. We’re gonna try out these 2 formats this fall/spring & see how it goes! Hopefully this post clears up any confusion. I am still hosting the show currently.”
Daly noted that he’s hosted and produced “every single second of the show since day 1, 30 seasons, 16 years,” adding, “I’ll be producing Celeb Voice only & helping it launch from behind the scenes.”
The Voice: Celebrity is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2027 and will feature Palmer as host, with coaches Joe Jonas, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green. The special season swaps undiscovered talent for a wide range of celebrities – actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars.
