As you explore the Caribbean in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you’ll find a number of treasure maps. Follow the directions on them, and they’ll lead you to buried chests containing all manner of loot, ranging from resources and crafting materials to one-of-a-kind cosmetics. The first of these is located in Havana, with the treasure it leads to also buried in Havana – it’s not always the case that the map and treasure are on the same island.
These are largely adapted without any major changes from the original Black Flag, but if you don’t know what to look for, solving them may be a little confusing. Here’s everything you need to know about finding and solving your first treasure map in Resynced.
Where To Find The Havana Treasure Map
You’ll find the Havana treasure map within Havana’s walls: specifically, head to the map location above, where Kenway may make a comment about a “poor fellow,” or you may see some NPCs pointing and whispering at the bottom of a moat.
Climb on down there, and you’ll find a skeleton in a suit of armor. Search the body to find the treasure map, which you’ll see just below.
Where To Find The Havana Buried Chest
Note the coordinates and the drawing on this treasure map. The coordinates will give you the rough position of the treasure, while the drawing will tell you exactly where to dig.
Open your in-game map and start scrolling around. As you do, note the coordinates below your cursor, and try to match them with the ones printed on the treasure map. If you can’t match them exactly, getting as close as possible is okay. Leave a marker on your map and travel to this point (213, 564).
Now, the Havana map is unique in that it includes an aerial map of the treasure’s location in addition to an X-marks-the-spot style sketch of its surroundings. So we can infer the treasure is on the beach south of the city, near the coordinates listed above. Head there and look for this spot:
Look down until you see a prompt, then hold Triangle/Y to dig. Just like that, you’ve found your first treasure.
As you continue to explore, you’ll find more treasure maps here and there. Most of them lead you to different islands from where you initially found the map, and don’t give you as much helpful context as to where you dig, which makes the Havana map an easy introduction to the concept of treasure hunting in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
