Hulu subscribers are spoiled for choice this November. The popular service offers a seemingly endless library of existing, recent, and incoming movies.
The popular service launched in 2007 as a free website where people could watch shows and movies the day after they premiered on TV. It has grown and transformed over the past (nearly) two decades. Today, it hosts thousands of shows and films for between $44.99 and $12.99 a month, even producing its own originals. Among the biggest streamers in the game, Hulu offers a vast viewing library.
There are over 100 TV shows and movies arriving on Hulu in November 2026. The streamer appears to be shifting into holiday mode, as horror movies exit to make way for seasonal favorites. Slashers such as Scream are out and festive flicks such as National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation are in (via WhatisLeaving). Despite this shift, Hulu still hosts a variety of genres this coming month. Subscribers can check out last month’s new arrivals, including hits such as Midsommar. Hulu originals such as Palm Springs and Happiest Season are also always available and reliably entertaining.
With hundreds of fantastic flicks, it can be difficult to know what to stream first. Among the load of top titles on Hulu this November, these ten stand out as must-sees.
The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Tragicomedy master, Martin McDonagh (In Bruges) delivered one of his best movies in 2022. The Banshees of Inisherin takes place on a remote Irish island in 1923. The strange story follows the abrupt and increasingly bitter end of two men’s lifelong friendship.
The ex-mates are played by McDonagh’s recurring actors, Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. The two deliver outstanding and layered performances as exceptionally stubborn characters. Barry Keoghan is a strong addition to the cast in his typical tragic misfit role.
Written and directed by McDonagh, The Banshees of Inisherin is wonderfully complex. It is at once hilarious, tragic, beautiful, and grotesque. Though not for the faint of heart, this R-rated film is a true gem. The Searchlight Pictures production has a solid 8/10 from Screen Rant, a near-perfect 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. It enters Hulu on November 1.
I’m Still Here (2024)
Based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s 2015 memoir, I’m Still Here is a quiet portrait of a mother’s slow emotional devastation when political discord fractures her family. Set during the 1970s military dictatorship in Brazil, it follows Eunice Paiva (Fernanda Torres) as she grapples with her husband’s mysterious disappearance. She must continue to care for her five children, despite the void left in her heart.
The touching film is both a sweeping political drama and intimate family drama. It depicts the breaking of Eunice’s heart as she must continue to be the practical pillar of her fractured family. I’m Still Here won Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. Appreciated by reviewers and audiences alike, it boasts an impressive 97% critic and popular score on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2024 feature enters Hulu on November 17.
Aliens (1986)
Aliens is one of the few sequels to outpace its predecessor. In 1979, Ridley Scott changed both the sci-fi and horror genres with his seminal classic. In 1986, James Cameron expanded the intimate thriller into the high-octane action franchise audiences know today.
The terrifying and exhilarating follow-up sees Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley return to the site of her extraterrestrial encounter, this time protecting a young survivor (Carrie Henn) from the terror there. The flick is as horrifying as the original, but doubly action-packed and emotionally resonant. It is the pinnacle of the action genre, and a masterclass in large-scale directing.
Aliens launched a lasting franchise that is still producing blockbuster installments today. Endlessly quotable and highly influential, Aliens enjoys a perfect 10/10 from the Screen Rant. It descends onto Hulu November 1.
Mickey 17 (2025)
From Parasite director Bong Joon Ho, Mickey 17 is one of Robert Pattinson’s best performances. The saterical sci-fi is an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s novel, Mickey 7. It sees Pattinson as an “expandable,” living in a colony on the planet Niflheim. His unfortunate job is that of a disposable lab rat—to die, be reprinted, and die again.
The quirky comedy is solid all the way through, but really heats up when Mickey 17 is presumed dead, and mistakenly reprinted. The film expands into thrilling and unpredictable high jinks with two Mickeys in the mix (17 and 18). Pattinson delivers stellar performances as the two temperamentally distinct Mickeys.
Fellow cast Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, and Toni Collette also shine under Bong Joon Ho’s strong direction. Mickey 17 enters Hulu on November 23.
Barbarian (2022)
In 2022, Zach Cregger released a horror hit that ruined Airbnbs for everyone. Barbarian sees a young woman (Georgina Campbell) arrive at her rental to find that a man (Bill Skarsgård) is already there. After he convinces her to say the night, she faces a disturbing evil.
The thriller toys with audience expectation and twists from a standard horror into a wholly unpredictable, entertaining, and unnerving feature. Its terror is tinged with humor and balanced with a clear point of view. It dives into questions of gentrification, generational trauma, and modern barbarianism.
A modern horror classic, Barbarian has a strong 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. The horror entered Hulu in October, but will remain on the streamer in the coming month. This is great news for subscribers not ready to bid farewell to the spooky season.
Thelma & Louise (1991)
Ridley Scott’s 1991 road trip drama is a must-see classic. Thelma & Louise, follows two friends on the lam after killing a man who attempted to rape them. All-star actors Susan Sarandon (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Geena Davis (Beetlejuice) portray the titular leads in two legendary performances.
While one of his most low-scale productions, Thelma & Louise bares Scott’s distinct directorial style. It is as visually stunning as it is narratively immersive. The dramady released to a warm critical reception, earning six Academy Awards and one win for best original screenplay. It currently holds a solid but not astounding 87% critical score and 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Thelma & Louise remains a highly-referenced classic and an essential viewing of American cinema. The film also features one of the most iconic endings of all time.
The Last Duel (2021)
The Last Duel is one of several incredible Ridley Scott films on Hulu this November. Scott’s 2021 film marks the Gladiator director’s triumphant return to historical epics.
Set during the Hundred Years War, the film depicts the final sanctioned duel between knights Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris. The conflict is intensified by Marguerite de Carrouges’ (Jodie Comer) sexual assault allegations against Le Gris. Matt Damon and Adam Driver play the warring knights in expectantly powerful and dynamic central performances.
The Last Duel unfolds through the three characters’ distinct perspectives, each contradicting pieces of the other’s story. Though more experimental than Scott’s earlier work, the film maintains his distinct visual style and grand filmmaking. It has a solid 7/10 from Screen Rant and an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Last Duel rides onto Hulu on November 1.
Hokum (2026)
While somewhat overshadowed by this year’s more lucrative horror hits, like Obsession, Hokum is a solid entry into the genre and a promising young classic. This folklore horror from writer-director Damian McCarthy sees a gruff author mentally tormented by a fabled witch while visiting a remote inn.
The film received critical and popular praise for strong writing and direction by McCarthy and a stellar central performance by Adam Scott. Scott was formally best known as the lovable Ben Wyatt on Parks and Recreation, making this gritter role a bit of a departure for the actor.
In a less horror-saturated theatrical calendar, Hokum could have been the spooky hit of the year. It boasts a near-perfect 9/10 from Screen Rant and 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Hokum arrived on Hulu in October, and remains on the streamer in November.
Thelma (2024)
Thelma is a heartwarming-hidden gem. The action-comedy sees June Squibb’ Thelma embark on an action-packed quest to retrieve her stolen money from tele-scammers. It is an astounding directorial feature debut by Josh Margolin. The independent comedy leans into traditional action-movie tropes and editing as Thelma zooms down the streets on a mobility scooter, determined to get her man.
Outside its thrilling antics, Thelma is also a touching family drama and a meditation on a lost sense of self and independence during the aging process. Sure to make viewers both laugh and cry, Thelma is an uplifting must-see, well-suited for general audiences. The slow-burn hit has enjoyed steady viewership since its addition to Hulu. For those who have yet to watch this action-flick with a near-perfect 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, it remains on Hulu this November.
Hereditary (2018)
Ari Aster’s horror hit from 2018 entered Hulu in October, and it is not going anywhere this November. Hereditary is perhaps the best A24 horror of all time, despite steep competition. Outside its studio classification, it is among the best horror movies of the modern era. In many ways, the eerie film initiated today’s art house horror trend.
Hereditary depicts the unraveling of the Graham family following an unexpected tragedy. Haunted by generational trauma and overwhelming grief, the fractured family eventually learns the harrowing truth of their ancestry. The psychological horror is both terrifying, devastating, and deeply disconcerting. It leaves viewers squirming.
Hereditary‘s tight writing and direction are perfectly sold by incredible performances, particularly from Graham matriarch Toni Collette. With a strong 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, this horror classic is a must-see in the Hulu streaming library this November.
