Fallout: Invaders From Beyond Officially Launches August 18

It’s a stressful time to be a Fallout fan lately, and despite recent updates including the confirmation of Fallout 5 and a Fallout 3 prequel, the restructuring at Xbox and layoffs at Bethesda haven’t instilled much confidence among gamers. While Bethesda has insisted that the layoffs will not impact development on their various projects and won’t result in further delays on titles such as The Elder Scrolls 6, players are finding it hard to simply take them at their word.

That said, in response to fears sparked by said restructuring and employee terminations, we did finally get an official statement from Bethesda on Fallout 5, as well as several other updates for the franchise. In addition to a Fallout 3 prequel slated to launch in a Fallout 76 update, it looks like Bethesda is planning to release remakes for both Fallout 3 and New Vegas as we strap in for a long wait for Fallout 5‘s eventual launch.

Even with all these new announcements, the timeline for all of these projects is still pretty murky, but fans can mark their calendars for a definitive new Fallout release with the upcoming launch of Fallout: Invaders From Beyond on Tuesday, August 18 (via X).

August Is A Packed Month For Fallout

The Zetans Are Back! Kicks Off This Week

Fallout fans have a lot to look forward to this month, with multiple events in store ahead of the upcoming launch of Invaders From Beyond for Fallout 76‘s ongoing Season 25, Appalachia Under Siege. Starting August 6 with The Zetans Are Back! leg of Appalachia Under Siege, Fallout 76 will host a “Double Score and Murmrgh’s Special Pick” event until Monday, August 10.

This will be followed up by a “Gold Rush and Double Mutation” weekend event running from August 13 to August 17, with the kick-off for Invaders From Beyond launching on August 18.

During Invaders From Beyond, players can respond once every hour to a Zetan invasion at one of several rotating locations, battling waves of alien forces while destroying Brainwave Siphons before taking on the event’s final boss, General Zeta. Alongside the public event, players can earn a variety of alien-themed rewards, including weapon plans, CAMP items, cosmetics, and other rare loot, making it a worthwhile grind for both newcomers and longtime Vault Dwellers.

Fallout 76 Is Still Going Strong

Wastelanders Are Getting Tons Of Fresh Content All Year

While it hasn’t always been Fallout‘s most beloved entry in the franchise, Fallout 76 is certainly the most content-packed experience on offer. Now in its 25th season and entering its 26th season in September, the game has come a long way since its disastrous launch back in 2018. Over the years, it has become the primary medium for Bethesda to roll out new Fallout content, including fresh storylines, new characters and bosses, and expanded regions of the Wasteland.

If you haven’t had a chance to play Fallout 76 in a while, now is the perfect time to dive back in ahead of the exciting announcement of a Fallout 3 prequel, Raven Rock. The prequel promises to shed new light on the Enclave’s history years before the events of Fallout 3, making now the perfect opportunity to gear up and experience everything Fallout 76 has to offer before Raven Rock arrives.
