Since it became the best-selling video game of the year back in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy has suffered quite a bit of a dry spell since. With Avalanche Software opting to focus on a sequel rather than any post-game content for the Harry Potter-inspired RPG, fans have been left wanting, having to rely on fan-made creations and mods as an excuse to return to the game three years on from launch.
Although Avalanche Software did briefly return to Hogwarts Legacy for a summer update back in 2024, as well as the launch of an official photo mode at the same time, fans have not been treated to any post-game content such as additional quests or story. However, with the studio turning its attention to the sequel which many believe could launch as early as 2027, maybe its sins are about to be forgiven.
In the meantime, there are thousands of Hogwarts Legacy mods to check out, ranging from ones that allow you to become a fully-fledged student at Hogwarts to ones that cater to the fans who love fashion above all else. There is something for everyone, and the Sword of Gryffindor mod is no exception.
Created by arbek over on Curse Forge, Sword of Gryffindor allows your in-game witches and wizards to wield the very sword owned by Godric Gryffindor. Replacing the in-game wand model, the sword will allow you to cast spells and there is no denying that it looks a lot more epic than a standard wand.

Added over a year ago, the Sword of Gryffindor mod already boasts over 23,000 downloads, so it is safe to say that Hogwarts Legacy fans have been searching for ways to improve the game, even by making small changes such as transforming a wand into a giant, gleaning sword.
After all, despite the controversy surrounding its launch, Hogwarts Legacy remained a sure hit, and our very own William Cennamo awarded the Harry Potter-inspired RPG a 9/10 stars. Their review read:
Hogwarts Legacy is a wonderful game filled to the brim with adventures to be had, activities to engage in, and secrets to be found. The school and the surrounding areas have been recreated beautifully, and players will easily lose hours lost in the whimsical splendor of this wizarding world.
