Hogwarts Legacy: Wizard Academy Is A Massive Hit With Gamers

Whether you’re a big fan of Harry Potter and the surrounding franchise or not, it’s difficult to deny that Hogwarts Legacy did a really solid job transforming it into video game form once again. As such, it’s comfortably one of the most commercially successful games of the current generation, particularly over on console.

That said, the PC version of the game is also very popular, and it comes with the added bonus of allowing the modding community to do what they do best. Now, a new download has just been made available to players that really does transform it into the huge sandbox of players’ wildest dreams.

Hogwarts Legacy Isn’t Dead Yet

Over on Curse Forge, you should be able to find the download page for Wizarding Academy RP, a multiplayer mod and roleplay server where players can live out their wildest wizarding dreams. You’ll go about your life in Hogwarts as a student, meeting real folks as they do the same, perfecting their magical craft.

It’s a really cool approach that transforms how the game is played, bringing new life to the school with actual players, rather than AI characters. If it takes off, it could easily become one of the more important RP setups in any game, and it’s safe to say fans are excited about the possibilities.

Over on Reddit, fans responded to the news of the mod’s release with almost universal positivity. The original post has received over 200 upvotes at the time of writing, and a slew of happy comments asking how they can get in on the action. “Thanks for letting us know! This looks incredible and I would not have heard of it otherwise! Appreciated!” one said.

“Dang! First time I’ve ever wanted to own a gaming PC!” another added.

The mod also comes complete with a text chat to allow players to communicate, though many are also using apps like Mumble to ensure they can actually speak to one another as though they were schoolmates.

What’s Going On With Hogwarts Legacy 2?

At the same time, development on the direct sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is on the way, though be warned that it could be a very different proposition from the original. Rumors swirl that the developer is leaning towards a live service setup, while at the same time those in charge at Warner Bros. have confirmed that the story will directly relate to the upcoming HBO adaptation.

That means Hogwarts Legacy 2 may take place at the same time as the Harry Potter books, or even in the immediate time before or after the war against Voldemort. Those are big risks to take, given what fans like about the first game, so we’ll have to wait and see what the final product turns out to be.
