Maggie Grace Joins Cast Of AMC’s NASCAR Drama Series ‘Thunder Road’

EXCLUSIVE: Maggie Grace (Fear The Walking Dead, Taken) has joined the series regular cast of AMC‘s Thunder Road, the NASCAR drama series from John Fusco. Grace joins the previously announced cast led by Dennis Quaid, Chase Stokes, Michael Rooker and Matt Barr.

Thunder Road is the multi-generational saga of the fictional Whitlock family, whose legacy in stock car racing is as deep as the family’s ties to the Southern hill country roots that shaped them.

Quaid stars as racing legend Duane Whitlock, aka The Wrecking Ball, a towering figure who built a racing empire from a legacy of moonshine runs and dirt tracks and refuses to let it die. With ruthless competitors who will stop at nothing to dethrone and destroy them, the Whitlocks are a blue-collar dynasty at the edge of extinction – and the old king is fighting to hold onto the crown.  

Grace will play Laney Whitlock, oldest and smartest of Duane’s children and the CEO of Whitlock Racing. Laney carries herself like she owns oxygen. She holds herself personally accountable for the future of the Whitlock racing legacy as she bears the brunt of everything that comes with running a race team, managing her own family, and holding at bay the instinct to be the same wrecking ball as her father.

“I made friends for life on Fear The Walking Dead. I look forward to getting back in the saddle with AMC’s unique brand of storytelling, and to working with [showrunner] Taylor Elmore again,” shared Grace.

Fusco is set to executive produce alongside showrunner Taylor Elmore, Cliff Roberts with Syndicate Entertainment, Mark L. Smith, and NASCAR Studio’s Tim Clark and John Dahl. Gladys Cheng serves as producer. The show is produced in association with NASCAR.

Grace most recently wrapped the new Amazon MGM feature film Fiona, starring as the titular role. She last appeared in NBC’s Suits: LA. She also starred in Lionsgate’s Blackwater Lane based on the New York Times bestselling novel The Breakdown by B.A. Paris. Grace was a series regular in AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead. She is best known for playing the female lead role of Kim in the Taken franchise opposite Liam Neeson. Grace is repped by Gersh.
