My Hero Academia’s final season felt like the ultimate send-off and a perfect tribute to the incredible work of the manga’s creator, Kōhei Horikoshi. However, MHA is also one of the most popular properties right now and, as a result, it can’t really be over. News of potential spin-offs, new releases, and upcoming sequels has been circulating online for quite some time, and it isn’t particularly surprising to see why. There’s still so much potential within its endearing universe left to be explored, and only future entries can do that.
Fortunately, My Hero Academia is returning sooner than some may have first thought. After MHA’s final season won big at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, it felt somewhat like there would be a lull before the next big release. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as after five months since the release of episode 170+1, My Hero Academia is back, and in a pretty substantial way. Suffice it to say, fans will absolutely want to pay attention to this upcoming release.
Alongside other upcoming My Hero Academia video games, the third installment in the critically acclaimed MHA fighting game series is finally heading to Nintendo Switch 2. My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, which retells the Final War storyline, released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC back in February 2026, but word on a potential Switch 2 release was kept relatively quiet. It was a shame, as the game introduced a number of new modes that fans on Nintendo’s hybrid console would have loved to experience.
Fortunately, Bandai Namco has announced that My Hero Academia: All’s Justice is launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, 2026, just over five months after the final episode of the anime aired. While the release of a Switch 2 edition of this game may not be the My Hero Academia sequel anime news some were hoping for, it is still worth paying attention to, as the NS2 version also comes with a free update affecting all systems.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of My Hero Academia: All’s Justice will include all the modes and features from the other versions. However, it is also coming with brand-new minigames that are being added to the PS5, Xbox, and PC versions of the game. Additionally, those who pre-order MHA: All’s Justice on Switch 2 will get to unlock both the playable characters Izuku Midoriya Rising and All for One Chaos early as well as receive 30,000 Hero Coins, which can be spent to unlock cosmetics and be used on the aforementioned minigames.
The only downside to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition is that the physical version features a Game-Key Card, rather than a traditional cartridge. Regardless, it is great to finally see the conclusion to this epic trilogy of fighting games launch on the Switch 2, especially considering the other two games and their DLC are also available on the platform. At the very least, My Hero Academia’s latest release will help keep the hype alive a little longer while fans await news of the next major project.
