Now, the Geekom A9 Max is an impressive machine for anyone looking for a high-powered desktop-class computer. I mean, it’s complete overkill for running your standard suite of office software – as expected in our review, it breezed through Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Where it shines is AI-driven workloads – we found Qwen 2.5 7B to be a great LLM for the 32GB model, and noted “the processing speed of that LLM model is far faster on this A9 Max 2026 Edition than I’ve seen on most other options.”
Content creation apps is another area that proved a highlight during tests. Tools like Lightroom, Photoshop, Blender, and Capcut loaded quickly with no issues.
However, we did clock some lag using DaVinci Resolve to edit videos. If you’re a creative professional working on more demanding workloads, the built-in RAM and storage may need to be expanded – that’s easily done. And you can connect an external eGPU through the mini PC’s USB4 port.
We even managed to play AAA games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Cyberpunk 2077, which ran smoothly.
