“As life gets big—you’ve got a career and you’ve got a family—there’s many parts to play: Father, husband, performer, writer, whatever those are,” Matthew added. “Instead of feeling like five different hats you gotta wear one day, you go, ‘Oh, that’s all part of the same story. That’s all part of the same man I am.'”

“The only thing I ever knew I wanted to be was a father,” the Dallas Buyers Club star told People in 2020. “And it’s remained the pinnacle for me. Being a dad was always my only dream…I can’t think of anything being more important.”
