‘SNL’ Hits Season High As Inde Navarrette Episode Draws Young Viewers

[

Broadcast television celebrates when young people tune in to the linear schedule and Inde Navarrette and Gracie Abrams appearances on Saturday Night Live certainly helped draw youth to NBC.

The network saw a season high for its October 31 telecast with 5.2M viewers.

The Halloween episode, which featured a cold open with Tom Hanks returning as David S. Pumpkins alongside Bobby Moynihan, beat the previous season high, which came with the season opener featuring Jalen Brunson. That episode scored 4.6M viewers.

The episode also drew the highest number in the 18-49 demo in two years when John Mulaney hosted and Chappell Roan was the musical guest. Further highlighting interest from younger viewers, the episode was also the top Peacock performance of the season and was the most-watched streaming episode since Harry Styles hosted and performed in March.

It will be interesting to see whether comedy influencer Druski can replicate the success of the Obsession star and “That’s So True” singer when he hosts on November 7 with The Strokes as musical guest.

Mulaney will be back once again on the Lorne Michaels-created show on November 14 with Phoebe Bridgers as the musical guest.
