William H. Macy Signs With United Talent Agency

EXCLUSIVE:  United Talent Agency has inked two-time Emmy Award winner, 4x Actor Award winner, and Oscar-nominated actor William H. Macy for representation in all areas. 

Macy’s feature work includes his Oscar Best Supporting Actor nominated turn in the Coen Brothers’ 2x Academy Award winning Fargo as well as Paul Thomas Anderson pics Boogie Nights and Magnolia. Macy rallied on Showtime’s Shameless, where he played main character, Frank Gallagher, from 2011 to 2021, on which he received six Emmy noms. Macy won two Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor in Miniseries/Movie as well as Writing in that category for the TV movie, Door to Door.

Macy is currently in production on Dan Fogelman’s new series The Land for Hulu, starring opposite Christopher Meloni and Mandy Moore. In the series he plays Hank Durkin, the owner of a professional football team based in Cleveland, often referred to as “The Land.” 

Macy also starred recently as Arn Peeples in the Oscar-nominated Netflix film Train Dreams. Other recent screen credits include Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Soul on Fire, and Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man. 

Macy is a close collaborator of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet. The duo met when Macy was a student at Goddard College in Vermont where Mamet was teaching. Macy originated roles in such iconic Mamet plays as American Buffalo and Oleanna. He has also established himself as a director, helming multiple episodes of Shameless as well as feature films Rudderless and The Layover.
